Regulation 2008 Rassegna Cinematografica Internationale Sport Film Festival

OFFICIAL REGULATION 2008

Art. 1 - LOCAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
It is constituted by THE CENTRE OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION IN SPORT LIFE promoting office with at the head VITO MAGGIO , directed by ROBERTO ODDO, the XXX edition of the INTERNATIONAL CINEMATOGRAPHIC REVIEW "SPORTFILMFESTIVAL", it will be in Italy to december 16th 2008 . During the competition, prizes "PALADINO D'ORO" will be assigned to the sport films and videos, other prizes for sport champions from cinema and television.

Art. 2 - COMPETITION
The SPORTFILMFESTIVAL, aims to promoting the diffusion of sportive films and videos that, in different languages and in different productive forms, contribute in developing of artistic and cultural tendencies of the World cinema. The end is to promoting the best quality of the productions of sport images; to stimulate, thanks to the mass media and the participation of the secondary school, interest in sport and cinema, supporting didactic-cultural meetings and stimulating the study, the discussion and the knowledge of cultural and creative problems typical of these two means of communication.

Art. 3 - SUBJECT
The "SPORTFILMFESTIVAL" is opened to all cinematographic productions about sport in his several expressions and in all his manifestations. It won't be accepted sexy hot films or about political, religious and racial themes.

Art. 4 - SECTIONS
All films, videos, television works, short and feature films about sportive films and all his different expressions that have been produced in the last three years ( 2005/2006/2007 ) will participate in four sections:
a) SHORT FILM
b) FEATURE FILM
c) PARALIMPIC

Art. 5 - THE PRIZES
The Festival will be competitive. The works will be valued from a Jury (with exclusion of how much has direct or indirect affairs) composed by seven personalities of the Cinema, of the TV, of the Media, of the Sport and of the Culture, that will assign, to proper unquestionable choice, the official prizes. The Jury will assign the Prizes:
Best Soundtrack
Best Editing
Best Photografy
Best Screenplay
Best Direction
Best Film

The jury, reserve him to assign Prizes for "special credits.

Art.6 - TITLING
All selected to the Festival can point out their own production with the wording and the logo of the "SPORTFILMFSTIVAL ".
For every form of propaganda after the Festival the producers of the winning works can use the mention "PALADINO D'ORO 2008."
The projections will happen in the order and in accordance with the programs established by the Direction of the Festival.

Art. 7 - SELECTION OF THE WORKS
To enroll a film in the "SPORTFILMFESTIVAL" it is necessary to send within and not over October 30th 2008
(the number of the works for every participant is boundless):
or the Card of registration (Entry Form) compiled in all of his parts and undersigned;
1 copy DVD (only in Pal System), that won't be returned (without subtitle);
1 copy DVD (only in Pal System), that won't be returned (with subtitle);
1 copy MINI-DV (only in Pal System), that won't be returned (without subtitle);
1 copy Betacam SP (only in Pal System), that won't be returned;
or All the works in different languages from English,
French and Italian must bring the subtitles in one of the three languages above you quote;
or a card of synthesis (synopsis) of the video in Italian and in English; or a suitable photographic documentation in digital (high resolution .jpeg) format of which he intends authorized and free the publication, to use for the Official Catalog, for the office it Stamps and for the promotion during the days of the Festival;
or a trailer of inclusive duration between 15 seconds and 90 seconds (1 minute and a half) in a BETACAM SP (only in Pal System) separated by the work, to be used by the televisions, for the awarding and for the projection on the external maxi-display;
or A possible the bio-filmography of the director and/or of the protagonists;
A special Committee will select among the admitted works, for every Section, a "Nominations" that will compete to the assignment of the Paladino d'oro in the different categories. The works that will have got the nominations will be projected during the Festival and they will be integral part of the Poster of the demonstration;

Art. 8 - REGISTRATION
The free registrations to the Festival open 1th January 2008 and they will be closed June 30th 2008. All the productions have to be with comment, or subtitle, in Italian or English or French. The set of forms have to be written out only in one of these languages. An incomprehensible or incomplete documentation during the registration (absence of the synopsis, of the photos, video not in the right format, etc.) it will mean the exclusion of the work from the Festival. The whole material must reach necessary within and not over September 30th 2007, to the following address:

Art. 9 - WORKS PARTICIPATING
The copies will be used by the C.O.L. exclusively for cultural ends, without any intent of profit and, the best sequences can be programmed by the means of communication promotional ends of the "SPORTFILMFESTIVAL", before, during and after the Festival, also in collaboration with Public body, Media, Schools, etc. For a further promotion, the works participating can be projected during other Festivals. The use puts aside from any finalities commercial. They cannot be diffused for other uses without the express authorization of the producer.
Who introduces the work declares himself owner of this in order to the present Regulation and he have to furnish to the C.O.L. the Card of registration properly undersigned in which, accepting the Regulation, it authorizes:
a) the maximum diffusion of the work (it means not subjected to some right or to other indemnities), facilitating more possible the disposition of this to the organisms that will ask for it.
b) the vision of the video by the delegates, famous journalists, observers,
c) the deposit, in the file of the C.O.L., of the copies DVD or VHS and BETACAM-SP of the introduced production, copies exclusively destined to the study, to the documentation and the institutional activity.
The participants will directly be responsible about possible demands or claims of reimbursement to have introduced the work to the Festival.
The Local Organizer Committee of the "SPORTFILMFESTIVAL" has the right to use the names of the participants to the Festival for his own promotional activity.

Art. 10 - TRANSPORTS AND INSURANCES
The shipping charges of the works from the country of origin will be paid by the owners. The packets containing the video coming from the foreign countries have to bring the following wording: "Destined to cultural demonstration - without commercial value." The Local Organizer Committee declines every responsibility for possible damages caused during the transport.

Art. 11 - GENERAL NORMS
For all the authors and the producers of the selected works there are particular facilitations for the flights or other means of transport and in the Hotels in Palermo arranged with the Festival. The authors or the producers of the works that will have got the nomination will be entertained by the Local Organizer Committee.
On possible controversial cases and about what is not anticipated in the present Regulation it will make reference to law's dispositions. The final decisions falls under the competence of the Direction of the Festival. For every possible claim on the meaning of the single articles of the Regulation, it remains faithful to the original text written in Italian.
